3 Tips On How To Pick The Perfect Costume:
This is Halloween! Orange! Pumpkins! Costumes! And More!  This is the season to dress up in silly and scary Halloween costumes and head door to door to collect delicious treats to eat! You may have some spooky ideas of your own, but here are 3 quick tips on how to pick the perfect costume: Tip 1: Use things of your own from home!  Look up your favorite character and then raid your wardrobe to pull together your own spin on a character’s costume! But don’t just stop there, your entire house is filled with things that can be used in your costumes: check the kitchen, the garage, the closet, all around!   Tip 2:  Get creative!  Take inspiration for your kids’ costume from all around you. You can stick with the classics of a vampire, ghost, mummy, or zombie, or what about combining those things? Either mesh them together within each other (like a vampire-zombie or a mummy-ghost) or pull something else into the mix! A vampire-baseball player or a zombie cheerleader, the opportunities are endless!   Tip 3:Don’t do it alone!  Find some buddies, siblings, and parents and keep everyone together by making a group effort in your costume and doing a group costume! Search your favorite books, movies, tv shows and bands to give everybody a role that they would enjoy to dress up as. Examples could be: dressing up as the Wiggles, the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White, a group of bowling pins, really anything!  But Halloween isn’t only about dressing up! It’s about that “Trick or Treat” spirit. You cannot contain that spirit to only one night, so check out these 4 games and activities that you can do with your parents and friends to keep the spirit of the season going!  Monster Freeze Dance Dance Party! Dress it up in your costumes or keep it casual in your everyday clothes but bring a special edition of freeze dance to the floor and play Halloween music, you get out when you keep dancing after the music has finished, whoever is the last one standing is the winner!  Ghost the Doorbell! Cut out your own drawing of a ghost and pack a bag of goodies to leave on the doorstep of the house that you are “ghosting.” The goal is to leave the ghost and the box of goodies on the doorstep, ring the doorbell or knock on the door, and then run away-trying not to get caught! Make sure you leave instructions about how to continue the ghosting cycle so that everyone on the block can get involved! The Mummy Wrap! Use toilet paper in a new and fun way by putting it all over your body in a mummy wrap. Grab a partner and make it a friendly competition who can make the most realistic looking mummy on their partner by covering up their body over their clothes as much as possible!  Pass the Pumpkin! Have you ever heard of a water balloon toss or egg toss? This is just the same, except with little pumpkins! Find a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch that is just light enough for you and a partner to toss. Take a step back each time you make a successful toss and see how far away from each other you can both get tossing it around. Don’t let the pumpkin hit the floor! Even though your Gululu pets may not be able to dress up with you, they definitely want to be around to keep your kids hydrated while they are eating all of their Halloween sugar. Send us pictures of your little ones in their favorite costumes with their Gululu pets this Halloween!  Love, Team Gululu

Fun Hydration Tips for Fall - This is how you do it and enjoy every minute!
The season has changed to Autumn, but something that wont change is the amount of water your children need to make sure they don’t fall into habits of dehydration!  Your little ones may not be running around in the hot summer sun anymore, but they are still working hard both in and outside of the classroom! Brainpower is fed by waterpower, so it’s more important now than ever to get your kids practicing healthy eating and drinking habits.   Look below for a list of the five fast ways to fight dehydration in the fall!   1.    Have an orange party!   What color do you think of when we say fall? Orange! Good news is that there are a ton of veggies full of water and nutrition to eat. Baby carrots are a quick treat to put in the lunch boxes or after school snacks to keep your kids healthy and hydrated!   2.    Festive and fun straws   Look out in your local grocery store for some super silly straws to stick in a plain old glass of water to making sipping fun! Your little ones will enjoy watching the water swirl through their straws and into their mouths.   3.    Switch plain old potato for something sweet in your oven!   Give a sweet potato fry a try! A great way to introduce a new vegetable in a variety of different ways! Add some brown sugar or marshmallows on top of your fries for a new type of nacho or sprinkle with salt for a contrast of flavors!   4.    Sprinkle a little bit of apple cider into your hot water and sit by a fire!   Appreciate the season with a little bit of seasoning in your water! Make a campfire with the family and sit along fireside with a nice warm cup of flavored water. Be sure to make sure the water wont burn your little one’s tongues by testing it first!            5.    Rake up the leaves and rake up an appetite!   Turn cleaning up the backyard into preparing your children’s stomach for a feast! Get everyone’s appetites all worked up by having them run around the yard, putting all the leaves into a pile and then welcome your kiddos inside to a feast! And of course... with Gululu interactive bottle  you can keep hydrated with your pet companion!   Let us a know a tip we may have missed in the comments and show us how you keep your family hydrated and healthy with the changing of the seasons!   Love,   Team Gululu
What Are The Warning Signs Of Dehydration In Children?
Dehydration in children often go unnoticed and can be very serious. Discover the warning signs of dehydration in children so that you can recognize it before it gets too serious.   Did you know that children are more likely to become dehydrated than adults? Since their bodies are smaller, they have smaller reserves of water. Even though summer is almost over and fall is on the horizon, children can still easily become dehydrated. Discover the warning signs of dehydration in children so that you can recognize it before it gets too serious! While there are certainly some instances that can cause dehydration in children, such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea and chronic illness, dehydration can easily happen on a daily basis if children are not getting the proper amount of water for their weight. For instance, if your child heads off to school for the day without any liquid at breakfast and doesn’t drink much at school, by the time they get home, they could show signs of dehydration. Just think if they head straight to after school activities such as football or baseball practice. Luckily, there are a few warning signs that you can look for to avoid serious dehydration.   Warning signs of dehydration in children: Dry or cracked lips Dark-colored urine (ideally, you want pretty clear with a hint of yellow) Little or no urine for eight hours Cold or dry skin Sunken eyes or sunken soft spot on the head (for babies) Excessive sleepiness Low energy levels No tears when crying Extreme fussiness or irritability Fast breathing or heart rate   Though it is rare, in serious cases, your child can become delirious or unconscious.   How much water does your child need to stay hydrated? As mentioned above, there are different factors that determine how much liquid children need in order to stay hydrated: age, weight, gender and other factors such as activity level, humidity and their overall health are all taken into account.   But, according to a study led by researchers at Queens College of the City University of New York and published in the October 2010 issue of the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition”, children need between five and eight cups of water each day, But some children may be fine with less water, and children who are very active may need more. Your child may need more water during the day when it's hot outside or when they’re sick or recovering from an illness.   How can you get your child to drink more water?   Use frozen fruit in place of ice cubes Buy silly straws Infuse their water with flavor by adding fruits like berries, cucumbers, lemons and limes Set a good example- if you have kids, you know they watch your every move. The more your children see you carrying out healthy habits, the more likely they are to do the same Make it fun, perhaps offer an incentive or a reward if they hit their limit...or perhaps it can help their pet grow and evolve :)   About Gululu We are on a mission to develop good habits by helping kids stay healthy and build great habits that will last a lifetime. Our interactive bottle does both of these things by measuring and rewarding healthy hydration habits. Learn more about us today! >> Image taken from Fun Money Mom Blog

Indoor and Outdoor Summer Activities For Your Family!
The temperatures are heating up all summer long and the littles ones aren’t at school to occupy their days anymore. There is so much more time on your hands for fun activities that you all can share together, so many places you can go and exciting things you can do and see!    Make your memories and moments with your children unique as you show them that the best parts of summer are closer to home the they think! Here are 7 special tips to finding the most fun summer activities for kids! 1.Water! While Team Gululu and the Gululu pets are here to make sure your family and your children are drinking enough water, there is also another use for it: to play! Whether in the ocean, a swimming pool, sprinklers in the yard, or a fun water balloon fight find the water nearest you and use it to cool off outside under the summer rays! 2. Turn clean up into craft up! Although “spring cleaning” may have already passed, it is never a bad idea to repurpose some broken or barely used materials in your home! You can use this tip for any rainy day that comes your way too. Use old cereal boxes and milk cartons to make guitars and other musical instruments! Take some mismatched socks and start up a sock puppet collection! Find some old buttons, string, and a paper plate and help your kids make fun masks they can jump around the living room in! 3. Head to the park and bring a picnic! Spend a day watching your kids on the slides and the swings and set up a blanket to eat some fresh fruit and veggies with PB&J sandwiches after they are all famished from running all of their energy out! BONUS: if there is a pond near by, have fun watching the ducks, turtles, and other wildlife swim around! 4. Create your own street art! Find your driveway or a sidewalk and add some color to it with the help of sidewalk chalk! This chalk is a special way to showcase your kids’ designs while also being a huge surface that they can color on that only stays permanent until the rain comes and washes it away. 5. Feed and find the birds! Make bird feeders out of pinecones, peanut butter and bird seed! This fun little craft will last long after you finish hanging up this delicious treat for the birds. Have the little ones take pictures or write descriptions of the different types of birds that stop by the feeders. This way you are bird feeding and bird watching all at once! 6. Make a fully-functioning fort! Expand your kids’ creativity and challenge them to make the biggest or best fort that they can imagine. Inside or outside! Using blankets, chairs, cardboard boxes and more make this fort adventure something that they can both create and explore. 7. Plant a garden! Summer is the perfect time to help grow either some beautiful flowers or some fresh fruits and vegetables. First step is to go to the store and grab the special seeds. Find a variety and make sure they can survive in the conditions of your yard. Then plant them with your little ones and show them how to water the plants so that they can grow! The kids can be on the lookout all summer to see when their fruits and veggies are ready to be eaten! Have fun on your adventures and let us know any special tips or tricks you use for fun summertime activities! Love, Team Gululu
Summer Vacation: Keep your Kids Hydrated During Flights!
One of the most fun things you can do with your little ones is to take them on an adventure. Sometimes that is to the park, or to the zoo or even on an airplane! Going on a journey through the sky is exciting and new, no matter the length of the flight. However, the length of the flight is something you need to consider in thinking about how much hydration your children will need! Flying at such high altitudes is very dehydrating so you need a plan to make sure your fun trip on the plane doesn’t end in dehydration! Here are 5 fast and fun tips to make sure you and your kids stay hydrated throughout your adventure! 1. Skip the sugary drinks, head to the water cart! If your flight offers in-flight food service, use this as an opportunity to get something from the cart that will keep your little ones relaxed and healthy! Getting anything from the cart would be a joy, but make sure that you keep hydration in mind and go straight for the water! Too many sugary drinks can leave everyone to still be dehydrated while wanting to bounce around the walls with all the sugar intake, which won’t be fun for anyone! 2.Always be prepared! Most security lines won’t let you bring any unchecked liquids into the airport, but there is a way to bring your water bottle from outside security with you the whole way! Good for you and good for the environment- bring a refillable water bottle along with you. Make sure that it is empty while going through security, but find a filling station before you take off! This tip also saves you a little bit of money from airport water bottle prices! 3.Stick with the facts- eat natural snacks! Two good foods to look out for are fresh, naturally flavored fruits, and also rice! These two might sound like a weird combo, but they have something in common- water! Foods like berries and cucumbers are easy to pack into a little bag on the go and are also rich in the most important nutrient- water. Although rice may sound like such a random treat, it is actually a food filled with a bunch of water in each and every cooked grain. 4.Keep your whole body hydrated! Use lotions and natural creams to keep each part of your body fully hydrated! The biggest organ that we have as humans is our skin and if we drink water, we naturally are taking care of that- but a little bit of lotion can go a long way! Bring scents or colors that will leave little mess but lots of entertainment for the little ones. Put a dot of lotion on their skin, and challenge them to make it disappear when they rub it in! 5.Here is a tip for you as much as it is a treat for your kiddos! Bring the Gululu pets along. Your little kids will be having fun enjoying the games while keeping themselves happy, healthy and hydrated all in one! No fussing on this flight because Gululu is the way to save the day. Here is another surprise and special treat: Gululu has upgraded to 3D! There is a whole new layer in the Gululu Interactive Bottle too. It’s called Wonder Woods, made with new and exciting views and adventures to enhance the game! Read more about it here Show us the journeys that the Gululu pets go on with you and your family by posting on our Facebook pictures of the places you have been together. Have fun in the sky! Gululu Featured at "Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity"
Reverse Innovation and the Advantage of Leveraging China's Ecosystem - Gululu Featured at "Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity" Representing China’s new generation of innovative entrepreneurs Gululu, the world’s first interactive water bottle that keeps kids hydrated, was proud and honoured to be featured at “Lions Innovation”, as part of the - “2017 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity”. Mr. Alvin Chiang, Founder and Chief Gululu of the startup that created Gululu, Bowhead Technology, was invited to address the audience of innovators on the theme of “Recalibrating the Definition of Innovation”. Mr. Chiang shared his own journey of how he started as an internet marketer for some of China’s most innovative and progressive startups, and turned into a tech entrepreneur and startup founder who was able to leverage China's emerging innovation talents with its highly advanced and efficient manufacturing ecosystem to bring Gululu to life and impact kids hydration habits worldwide. Mr. Chiang is no stranger to Cannes Lions. In 2013, he was invited to be a Lions Festival Cyber Juror, a lifetime honorhonour, and was inspired by the power of creativity of over 1000 innovators from across the globe. Mr. Chiang continued to participate in the festival annually and in 2016, was able to harness user feedback from the festival’s network of delegates to refine Gululu’s final prototype before pilot production in 2016.  With over 60 years of history, Cannes Lions was established to be the world’s most prestigious festival that celebrates traditional advertising, but has evolved to showcase a wide-range of marketing and brand creativity; digital, mobile, health, and entertainment innovation; and an even broader range of tech-infused and data-driven ingenuity. In 2017, the Lions “Innovation” category alone hosted more than 15,000 delegates from over 5000 companies representing 90 countries.  China has steadily become a more significant presence in the festival.  As an innovative Chinese entrepreneur, Alvin Chiang was honored to share the same Inspiration Stage with other cutting edge startups such as Olly Robotics, and tech savvy celebrities such as Halle Berry and Casey Neistat. Mr. Chiang attributed much of Gululu’s progress to his team and partners in China, including Foxconn, a premier contract manufacturer used by some of the greatest tech companies in the world, such as Apple Inc. .  Mr. Chiang noted, "Not only does China have the world’s biggest advantage in manufacturing resources and speed of development, it’s also growing a new generation of Chinese entrepreneurs who are demonstrating increasing confidence and ability to navigate uncharted territories, instead of copying from the West like their predecessors. This “Reverse Innovation” is a growing trend in which companies from the West are learning from and modeling themselves after companies from the East”.  “Cannes Lions is all about celebrating creativity, after all” Mr. Chiang added. As per his secret sauce for creativity, he believes more creativity and innovation will come from a cross-over or hybrid of two different genes, but those who will survive and thrive will be the ones who really solve a problem leveraging the new trends and managing to cross the gap between early adopters and the mainstream market.     Gululu also created a campaign at Cannes Lions that generated user social shares, examples attached. Enjoy the images, and stay hydrated! Much Gulu-love, Team Gululu
Fun and Proven Ways to Develop Your Kids Brain
Any activity we engage in wires our brain in a certain way. For children, creating new connections in their brains is  a crucial process for their development and acquired skills to help them throughout their lives! What type of activity does your kid engage in more than others? Is it watching TV or playing sports? and what does water has to do with it? Screen time -TV, video games, texting- will wire the brain a certain way. Educational opportunities, sports, art, music- will wire it in other ways. It’s best to balance learning, and use all the senses to practice activities that promote left & right brain coordination. We used scientific studies to discover some exciting tips and practices you can do together with your kids, to ensure good development of their brains: Left-Sided Brain Training: Meet the left side of the brain: It controls analytic thought, logic, language, reasoning, science, math, literature, mathematics, and right hand control. How to develop you kid's left brain? Math: Practice Simple Math: Have fun finding various shapes around the house. Teach fractions by cutting a piece of paper into equal parts and making a pile for each fraction. You know how much kids love cutting paper!  Fun with Numbers: Say a number and have your child tell you the number that comes before, or next. If denominations of 1 become too easy, then switch to denominations of 2, 5, 7, 20- you get the idea. Have them shout their answer as quickly as they can! Language & Literature: Learning a Foreign Language: will promote better attention, concentration, problem solving, reasoning, and more! Kids become better attuned to ignore redundance and focus on more relevant information. Speed Reading: Write letters or words on a small whiteboard or piece of paper. Show the word for only a millisecond and have your child tell you the letter or word. When this becomes too easy for your child, move on to entire sentences. You can use pictures, too! This exercise will help to develop quick cognitive function. “Madlibs:” a tried and true way to have fun while teaching parts of speech. With a little prompting, even a four-year old kid can have fun with these! Music: One of the best practices for brainpower is learning an instrument. A recent 5-year study at USC concluded that learning music appeared to accelerate brain development in the areas of language development, speech, and reading skills. Dictionary word search: Kids around 5 years old and above can to this with a little help! Just give them the first two or three letters of a word and have them find words with those letters. Read them together and practice making fun sentences! Science: Nature and the Natural World: Have your kid draw everything they see in the forest, or all the things that grow and live in water, in other habitats. Have fun talking about the picture with your kid. “So, what did you draw here?” Water and Ice: Talk to your kids about how ice turns back into water, and why they think it happens. Have your kids think about other materials that change states of matter.   Right-Sided Brain Training: Meet the right side of the brain: It is said to control art awareness, imagination, intuition, insight, holistic thought, music awareness, 3D forms, and left-handed control. How to develop your kids right brain side? Emotional Intelligence: Talk About Feelings: this will help kids to develop and understand more fully their own feelings, as well as the feelings of others. Story Telling: helps to share emotions and the meaning of words through tone, intonation and inflection. Seeing written words while hearing them is also great for early learning! Watch Movies: Talk about what happens and how you both feel. Make up alternate endings and see how far you can go! Building Self Confidence: Make believe: Participating in make believe with kids helps build self confidence because we validate their ideas as having meaning. It’s also great for developing imagination! Self Confidence: You and your child can use positive affirmations to practice new vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar. Build their self confidence while learning! Intuition and Insight: Use Feelings Flashcards: or pictures, and talk to your kid about each character’s feeling. “Why do you think he is happy?” Have your kid guess which emotion is more likely to act a certain way. “Do you think the angry person will share the sandwich? Why or why not?” Music Awareness: Listen to Music: Different styles of music create different kinds of feelings. Talk about the feelings created from different genres. Which kind of music do they like the best? Musical Simon Says: Sing a tune and have your kid follow your lead. Try different rhythms, speeds, volume, and sing with different emotions. Music helps to build strength in many areas and is also a lot of fun! Social Development: Start a Social Book Club: Get together with some of your kid’s friends’ parents and create a book club. Parents can take turns meeting at a different house every week. Have each kid bring a book, then have drawings to see which books get read! This will help kids learn social skills and help to build confidence when going to new places or new situations. Have “Play Overs:” Meeting friends outside of the school’s environment will give kids more insight into how other people live, developing a concept of social diversity and coping skills.   Our brains need  water Our last scientifically proved tip is to drink water and stay hydrated! (That applies for both kids, parents and grandparents!) Our brains depend on proper hydration to function optimally. Brain cells require a delicate balance between water and various elements to operate, and when you lose too much water, that balance is disrupted. Your brain cells lose efficiency. Hope you enjoyed this fascinating article! Yours, Team Gululu
What Gululu Shared on the United Nations’ Stage
If you have been following us for a while, you know that Gululu was born out of a strong will to grow healthier kids by increasing their water consumption. Our mission is to hydrate the kids of the world and we are pursuing it in various ways. Team Gululu is honored and thrilled by the great opportunity to speak at the United Nations “Ocean Conference”! We shared our mission and called organizations and schools with a sense of social responsibility  to join the endeavor to help undeserved and minor communities with poverty in small Islands Developing States. This post represents a milestone in the Gululu Interactive Bottle’s Journey, and we are so happy to share it with you! Gululu helps children stay hydrated by caring for a virtual pet and keeps parents informed through a connected app.  As kids drink more water from Gululu, their virtual pet grows and makes friends, and the kids develop a healthy habit! However, we wanted more—our vision is too big and too important… The question raised was how can a private company advance this goal beyond the immediate impact of their product? The best way, we figured, is through partnership. We took another step to making a profound impact on hundreds of thousands of kids around the world through our partnership with Generosity.org! For every bottle sold, a kid in a developing country is provided with clean drinking water—for life. Generosity.org is a non-profit organization that builds water wells in developing countries. So far, they have built over 778 water wells in 20 countries, serving half a million people! Today, we were able to share our special partnership and vision at the United Nations!   What did Gululu announce at the UN’s “Ocean Conference”? This week the UN is holding “The Ocean Conference”, which discusses the future of our oceans as well as Small Islands States communities, water pollution and how it affects our world's’ inhabitants and future. Our co-founder and general manager for North America, Mr. Asi Meskin, was invited to give two speeches about Gululu’s mission to hydrate kids living in Small Islands Developing states. To be honest, Team Gululu spent weeks thinking about what we wanted to say. How could we use this amazing stage to “get the ball rolling” even more? Eventually, we crafted an honest and engaging speech, and we are excited to share some of its highlights with you here: 1) Improving communities health “As our team at Gululu knows, having access to clean water is the first step to breaking the cycle of poverty. Listen to this: 663 million people still live without clean water, and we want to help. Why is it a problem? Health. The lack of clean water and sanitation causes 80% of all sickness and disease in the developing world - affecting more people than war, AIDS, and famine combined.” 2) So how do we combat this, even from afar? “The beauty of our partnership with Generosity.org is that for every Gululu bottle purchased, we provide clean water for life to a child in a developing country. As a company with a mission, we make sure that a percentage of each sale goes toward our cause, affecting the world beyond our immediate consumers. Every company can do this. For us, each and every bottle not only increases our consumer's kids’ water consumption but provides water - life! - to other kids!” 3) Our BIG announcement at the UN! “As part of the Gululu mission, it is my honour to officially announce for the first time that Gululu is partnering with an elementary school in the U.S. to build a well for an underprivileged community in Peru! This has become a reality due to a partnership model. We merged private sector (Gululu) with public sector (Generosity) to connect the developed world (elementary schools in the U.S.) with the developing world (the community in Peru). Through this type of model, we can help young people see the universality of the need for hydration. In this example, Monroe Elementary School in Palm Springs, California is our pilot for this model.“ 4) Calling you to change the world with us! “Now is the moment for a call to action: we are constantly seeking additional schools and organizations in the U.S. that have a social responsibility program or that want to create one to fundraise in order to build a well in a small island state or developing country. In this way, we further the mission of global hydration and bridge the gap between disparate worlds.” If you love what we do, help us find additional schools and organizations to partner with and make a difference for kids around the world! Awesome Music both Kids & Parents Will Love!
There is one language that goes across all cultures and expands past the constraints of time, and that language is music! As parents we love to treasure the music of our past, but our kids these days are looking to towards the music of the future! Good news is that there is plenty of music from the past that can be great for your kids in the present, like the music made for your kids now will sound good to you too! Just as music has its connecting traits across the world, it can also be used as a powerful tool to bring parents and kids together! The power of music can take you anywhere and can follow you anywhere too! Check out some fun ways for you and your children to listen to music together: 1.Start the morning off with energizing tunes - Some mornings it may be a little tougher to get the little ones up and moving, but as you are making breakfast in the morning, bring their favorite songs into the mix. Not only will they get the energy from having a healthy breakfast, but you will get their brains and their bodies moving for the day too! 2. A sing along in the car - Make any journey a fun one by turning on the radio to find the perfect song for you and your little ones as you travel along. Whether it’s a song you all know by heart, or a new tune to learn, everyone in the car gets to have an awesome and interactive experience together! 3. Household chores are no longer a bore - Need the dishes to be put away or the trash to be taken out? Use songs that both you and your kids like to enjoy as a timer to get each task done. While singing along your kids will be working hard to get each chore done, making their work go by quick and easy! 4. Family fun time - Turn any room in your house into a stage! Turn off the lights, bring some lamps or flashlights to shine, and a makeshift microphone from anything you can find around the house. Everyone belt out their favorite tunes and add a dance number to it too! Top 10 Tunes Here we have compiled a top 10 list of some artists who can entertain both you and your little ones no matter what you are up to! 1. Bob Marley: Three Little Birds 2. U2: Beautiful Day 3. The Beatles: Twist and Shout 4. Kenny Loggins: Footlose 5. Louis Armstrong: What a Wonderful World 6. Israel Kamakawiwo'ole: Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World 7. Imagine Dragons: On Top Of The World 8. Jack Johnson: Upside Down 9. Auli’i Cravalho: How Far I’ll Go 10. Katy Perry: Firework This is what we love to do in the Gululu family! Connecting you and your little ones is in the very fiber of the Gululu Interactive Bottle itself! All the steps from setup, to playing with their Gululu pets together, to following water intake via the app, parents and kids are connected every step of the way. Keep making memories and start blasting the tunes! Love, Team Gululu
Memorial Day: How to Share it with Your Kids
As the school year is winding down and summertime is starting up, Memorial Day is the holiday that comes at just the perfect time  to share both memories and values with your kids! Education, crafts, and walks out into nature or around town can help show your little ones both the importance and the history behind the holiday. Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those men and women who have died serving in the armed forces of the United States of America. Here are 5 fun activities that you and your family can enjoy when learning about Memorial Day this year: Share and Tell! Your children are making their own journeys in school right now learning about all the men and women of history who have made America what it is today. Give them the highlights that you remember about the historical battles of the past, but also ask for them to share! Getting the little ones excited about their education and bringing it home means that the classroom can extend even further than the regular school day! Make Connections! Thanking current members of the armed forces with sweet, colorful, and thoughtful cards gives your kids the chance to have a hands-on experience to help. To take a step even further, deliver these hand-made cards to local heroes and stick around to hear the stories that they have to tell! Get out and about! Go to a local parade, see all the open space and nature that the service men and women have fought for, or treat your family to a good, old-fashioned picnic. The traditional red checkered sheets can turn back the hands of time and help you and your kids celebrate the simple gifts that we are given in the USA! Let their voices sing and our flag fly! Pull out your American flag and let the wind catch the red, white, and blue while singing songs like the Star Spangled Banner or the National Anthem! If your home doesn’t have a flag or the kids don’t know those tunes yet, grab some colored construction paper, tape, and sticks from outside to make a fully functioning flag while you listen to the music on repeat. Before you know it your crafts will be done and your little ones will know every word to those special songs! Visit a museum! No matter near or far there is sure to be a museum of United States history or remembrance just a road trip away. Gather everyone together to look at military uniforms, pictures, scenes, and many more memorabilia from our nation’s past. Many museums also offer free admission to members of the armed forces, so you and your children may be able to thank a service man or woman in person! Share with us how your family does Memorial day in the USA and share this with your friends so that everyone can have a helping! Sending lots of love, Team Gululu
International Family Day Special: Be a companion to your child
We at Gululu are excited for International Family Day, as our mission revolves around healthier children and happier families! When you think about it, parents are our primary role models and teachers of what life is and how to live it. We learn from them, step by step, a lot of what we know in most stations of our lives; from helpless infancy through unwieldy adolescence- parents are our main companions and extremely influential friends. Much of what you think about life or feel about yourself is probably based on your experience with your parent companions. Generation after generation is powerfully influenced by the way "mom and dad" think and feel. So much of psychotherapy — perhaps most of it — is based on dealing constructively with life while better understanding what one parent, or both of your parents, taught you by word and example. Since our kids are constantly learning from us, the quality of the companionship you created in your family directly influences not only what a young person knows, but also what he or she feels about the world and himself or herself. Companionships, early or late in life, have a profound impact on what a person does with the gift of life. Under positive influences you can cherish the life in others and, holding all life precious, make the best of your own life, too. Most likely, the companionship of parents, other relatives, teachers, and old friends have significantly shaped your thoughts and feelings. Also, the examples and inputs of these key people are probably motivating your way of dealing with life — your drive toward success or failure. To contribute in strengthening the companionship and guidance you as a parent infuse in your family, we have outlined a few helpful tips: Listen to your kid. All human beings want to be heard and to be listened to. Researches show that when we listen to someone talking, show interest and ask questions, the person connects with and likes us even more, only because we made him feel good by listening to him. That works amazing with your kids, too! Listen to them, make their words feel most important to you! Be involved in your child's life. This one is easier said than done, especially as your kids grow. Being an involved parent takes time and is hard work. It may often mean rethinking and rearranging your priorities. Find a way to be there for your child mentally as well as physically. It does not mean you need to do your kids' homework; however, you should be involved and see how your kid is dealing with the material learned. Provide your kids with advice, ways to manage their time or conflicts, skills like prioritizing, judgment or lessons learned from your life experience. Treat your children with respect. In order to get respectful treatment from your children, treat them respectfully. Give your children the same courtesies you would give to anyone else - speak politely, respect their opinions. Pay attention when they are speaking to you. Treat them kindly. Try to please them when you can. Children treat others the way their parents treat them. Remember that your relationship with your children is the foundation for their relationships with others. Your kids are imitating you. This is a very important principle: since your kids learn much from imitating you, always remember they are watching what you do. Think, what you do can teach them good ethics, educational value, better ways to approach situations and so on. Explain what you do, why you do it, and provide guidance for your little ones 5. Show them that no matter what - you believe in them. As a parent you are a mentor and educator along with a friend. Keep telling your kid you believe in them, in their power to get a higher score on the next exam, to get accepted to the sports team, to achieve anything they want and fulfill their dreams. Express your unconditional love and support and let them feel they can do anything! They will thank you for that for the rest of their lives! We wish you all a happy, hydrated, International Family Day! Lots of Gulu-Love, Team Gululu
A Night of Generosity - To Impact Kids of the World!
Water is life, it’s nature's most valuable cure and resource to all of earth’s inhabitants. Our main goal at Gululu is to get kids to acquire water drinking habits in order to allow for a healthier life and well being. To advance this goal we have partnered with Generosity.org that has been providing clean drinking water solutions for communities in developing countries around the world! On March 21, the eve of World Water Day, Generosity.org hosted an event raising awareness for the clean water crisis and celebrating communities now having access to clean water thanks to the generosity of many supporters around the world! As a Generosity.org corporate partner, Gululu’s campaign was led by the slogan “Every Drop Matters” - because it really does! When Generosity.org first began in 2007, they had no idea of the impact they would create together with fundraisers, donors and partners, among them Gululu. With 778 water projects now complete, they invite you to join us in their goal of reaching 1000 water projects, bringing thousands of individuals access to clean water! You can do that by purchasing Gululu, for every bottle sold, a child in a developing country is provided with clean drinking water for life! This World Water Day was celebrated by us all at The Montage in Beverly Hills with friends, partners and celebrity supporters such as Actress Jane Lynch (Glee), Singer Jordin Sparks, Comedian Anjelah Johnson, Singer Pia Toscano and Actors DeVon Franklin and Meagan Good. Guluu was there to provide drops of water, joy and spread much Gulu-Love all around - together, for kids hydration! Overcoming Fluid Intake & Dehydration with Autism & SPD
As Seen in Mommy's Playbook by Victoria World Autism Awareness Day was mentioned this month. We at Gululu are humbled by this insights of Victoria Canline, on how Gululu has improved her autistic son's life. As an autism parent, I’m always wanting to know what other parents and occupational therapists are using to help their child.  There are so many products out there that may not be designed specifically for ASD, but become invaluable tools for us.  Like those little whistle lip toys — the first time our OT pulled that dime-store toy out of her bag, I tried not to giggle, but it helped him to become familiar with plastic on his lips and how to blow.  It was a handy little toy! Another toy we couldn’t do without is Gululu.  It was designed to help all children overcome dehydration concerns, but I had no idea how much it would help my son.  Gululu is an interactive water bottle that changed everything for us. Many autistic children battle with food and fluid intake, and my little guy is not exception. Before Gululu, he left drinks on the table after only a few sips, and never finished anything in his cups. Dehydration was always a concern — especially after he was hospitalized for it in 2014. A common phrase in our house was, “is it time to take him in for an IV?” because we were always worried he wasn’t getting enough. But after three short months of continuous use with Gululu, fluid intake stopped being a problem! Today, he gladly drinks without being prompted, bribed, or pleaded with. And since Gululu has a fluid tracker on their app, we were reassured of his progress each time we checked in. About Gululu: The fun Gululu bottle features a pet- tamagucci like that grows and goes through underwater adventures as the kid drink. The pets in Gululu motivate kids to develop healthy habits on their own. When your child drinks from Gululu Interactive Bottle, the pet grows happier and evolves. This constant interaction both entertains and encourages beneficial habit formation. Gululu has been featured on all main media publication like Forbes, Vogue and others.- and parents love it! Our Gululu Story: Jagger received Gululu for his birthday last summer, and I honestly had very little faith in it when it first arrived.  My only hope was that he would try it.  I mean, if I could get him to try it out, maybe it would stand a chance.  I was shocked when he made it past the first day — and then the first three days — and the first full week!  It was a eureka moment for us that first full week of use.  I loved that I was able to divert his attention away from “are you drinking” and ask him if he had fed his Gululu pet instead.  That minor switch in wording made drinking so much easier and it stopped being a struggle. If he hadn’t received his first Gululu last summer, I don’t know where we would be or what we would have done.  We were struggling — really struggling — before Gululu.  Everything we tried before it was either a failure or something that worked, sometimes, if we were on the verge of requesting IV fluids. Frozen pops, juice boxes, everyday toddler cups, sports bottles, you name it, we tried it!  Nothing worked for us before Gululu. Why I think Gululu Helped Us? Of course, the Gululu water-pet is what immediately prompted his attention, but aside from that, I think the design of the cup itself it great for children. The spout is small (approximately the same width as the standard straw) and doesn’t require any sort of special drinking technique. The liquid inside stays cooler than in a regular cup too.  Temperature is always a concern for autistic children.  My son likes cold things to be cold, and hot things to be hot; there is no in between for him.  Since his drink does stay cooler longer inside Gululu, he doesn’t make me replace the beverage inside between “Gululu pet feedings”. What I’ve Learned About Gululu: Gululu is durable! Sometimes my son throws things when he is upset and isn’t communicating positively, Gululu has survived those moments.  He has thrown Gululu across the tile floor a dozen times and we haven’t experienced any malfunctions. We have been using Gululu since July, 2016, and something I have noticed is that it is important for each child in your home have their own Gululu.  Sharing can cause your child to lose interest because, well, it stops being their special pet. This will also allow you to identify each child’s individual needs and make sure they are meeting the goals themselves.  BONUS: Gululu is more fun when you have more than one, because they can communicate and connect to each other — the Gululu Universe is a fun place to be! Especially for siblings and friends! *Disclaimer:  I am not a doctor, therefore I cannot give you medical advice.  What works for my son may not work for your child.  Please consult your pediatrician and occupational therapist to discuss your child’s fluid intake and dehydration concerns.

Gululu & World Water Day - "Every Drop Matters”
Water – what does it mean to you? At Gululu, water equals life. In 1992, in the vivacious city of Rio de Janeiro, the people of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) created an international day to celebrate freshwater.  Since 22 March, 1993, World Water Day has celebrated freshwater – the most important factor in the health of humans and ecosystems – with themes such as in 2015: Water and Sustainable Development; and in 2016: Water and Jobs. This year’s World Water Day theme: Wastewater - its value, and how to manage sustained development of clean drinking water. To Gululu, there really couldn’t be a more important day! Gululu’s mission - to bring good hydration health to children around the world - highlights this special day. Our partnership with Generosity.org promises that every Gululu water bottle purchased will guarantee a child in a developing country access to water for life! This is something we care very much about and are proud to be making the world a better place for our children, and for the future of freshwater on our planet. On this special day, we invite you parents to teach your kids about the importance of water for their lives - the neurological and physiological benefits of adequate hydration levels for kids. Teach them how important water is for our planet - every drop counts for our health, every drop can help flowers grow, animals to thrive.  Discuss with your kids about ways to conserve water. Our children our tomorrow's adults that will shape our world. We want them to know that when water equals life, every drop matters. Immersing the world in love, Team Gululu
